Two Russians are among the winners of the 2017 Sony World Photography Awards

The world’s 10 best single photographs were announced, by the judges of 2017 Sony World Photography Awards. There were only ten categories and 105,000 entries to choose from. Among 10 winners, are two Russian Photographers. Alexander Vinogradov competed in Portrait, while Sergey Dibtsev won in Still Life category.

Vinogradov’s portrait of the girl is easily recognized by movie lovers from all over the world. “Mathilda” is inspired by Natalie Portman’s character from the movie Leon: The Professional.

Dibtsev’s black and white image of a lonely boat, was considered best in category.

While these two images were selected by the professionals, other works of Russian photographers are also noteworthy.

One overall winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in central London on 20 April.
