Russia is beautiful. Almost everywhere, from Sakhalin to Kaliningrad, there are curious places to visit. Even in the midst of the bustling city, one can find an old and abandoned building with its own unique story.
This particular one can be found in the beautiful, forested area, somewhere between Moscow and St. Petersburg. The mansion of architect A.S. Khrenov was built in the late XIX century. The distinctive feature of the house – full asymmetry and the combination of natural and artificial materials used in the construction. Featuring the unusual looks of a medieval castle or a classic urban estate, this mansion was used as the sanatorium during the Soviet times. Currently it is being renovated or at least I hope so.
