Passengers had to push frozen aircraft in Siberia

The flight from Igarka to Krasnoyarsk was delayed due to low temperatures of – 52 C (-61 F). TU-134 aircraft literally froze to the ground. Passengers wanted to get home so badly, that they volunteered to push the plane to the runway. The aircraft successfully took off and arrived in Krasnoyarsk in a couple of hours. Video immediately went viral in Russian social networks.

Prosecutors are now checking whether the airport, the airline, the crew or the passengers broke any air safety laws.

Igarka lies 100 miles (161km) north of the Arctic Circle, so chilly winter temperatures are not unusual.
