Located in the Western Sayan Mountains in southern Siberia, Ergaki National Park is a beautiful “must see” sight in Russia. Some have named Ergaki (or Yergaki) the ‘Russian Yosemite’, a description that illustrates to outsiders the scale of its amazing views. Surprisingly, the place remains relatively unknown to tourists considering the natural delights it offers to travelers, photographers and nature admirers who are ready to explore off the beaten track.
Founded in 2005, Ergaki National Park stretches some 75 kilometers (46 miles) to south of the Western Sayan and is well-known in Russia, yet not abroad. Its pure mountain steams and lakes are among the least polluted on the planet. Today, there are many local mountain resorts available in the area for those who seek welcoming comfort in the midst of natural beauty.
Massive “hanging stone” is popular spot to take pictures.
