Apparently, there is a subculture of shoplifters in Russia. They use Vkontakte and other social media to interact with each other. There, they share the information about the most vulnerable stores to shoplifters, sell stolen goods and even request items to be stolen.
According to the community СПNЗДNЛИ disclaimer, “submitted posts are fictitious, any coincidence with reality is accidental. Community is set up to check and identify vulnerabilities in the security systems.” However, it seems like a bogus statement that was posted to avoid consequences.
Here are some typical posts in the community where they show off photos of their shoplifting bounty.
Also, they offer shipping anywhere in Russia.
Then, there is a Contact section of the online community, where shoplifters can pair up to shoplift a store.
The same section is used to send requests for certain items to be stolen.
From the posts, you can actually get to know how much is the stolen goods are sold for. Typically, they sell stuff 40% – 50% cheaper than a retail price.
Here are more screenshots of allegedly stolen items.
