Crimea has been stolen from Tretyakov gallery in Moscow

The painting by artist Arkhip Kuindzhi, was stolen from the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. An unknown person, disguised as a museum worker, took the painting “Ai-Petri. Crimea” from the frame and disappeared.

Arkhip Kuindzhi, was a Russian landscape painter of Greek descent. He was born in 1842 in the village of Karasu, near Mariupol, Donetsk, Ukraine.

The Kuindzhi exhibition opened at the Tretyakov Gallery on Sunday, January 27, on the anniversary of his birthday.
